I really am new to this. My amateurish approach was shown up when I had to outsprint another cyclist away from some traffic lights to get out of the way of traffic behind (I like to think I’m pretty considerate of cars so holding people up didn’t come in to my thinking). Anyway, having beaten him away I pulled in front – knackered – only to watch the other cyclist cruise past and away in to the distance. I couldn’t hear him, but I swear he was tutting…
Apart from that I think I’ve done alright this week. 20 miles on the bike, all seemed fairly easy (although I did bottle riding home on Thursday in the rain when it was late and I was tired) but the best bit is the Pirelli merchandise that has arrived for me to auction off. There’s a couple of ‘1st Place’ F1 caps in there – the ones worn by drivers on the podium – as well as an awesome Pirelli rucksack which features a solar panel and sockets to charge your phone/camera/tablet inside! There were a few other bits and bobs too like a keyring, wrist bands and umbrella. Pretty pleased with all of it so thanks very much Pirelli. It’ll all be up for auction or as quiz prizes later in the year.
